Architectural Engineering or Building Engineering is the application of engineering principles and technology to building design and construction of spaces and facilities where people live, work or play or where art is appreciated or learning conducted. Persons in this field may be engaged in structural, mechanical, electrical, construction or other engineering fields of a buildings design and/or construction.
The demands of society and the expansion of science are leading to the use of new materials of materials re-purposed and with qualities that enhance environmental efficiencies. In our next issue of SN Chronicle, our intent is to have minority subject matter experts and architects explain how their work relates to a sustained engineering/science workforce pipeline of women and minorities.
